Methodology

Where the numbers come from

Two sources, and only two. Every rate, threshold and cap is read from PwC's Worldwide Tax Summaries and confirmed against the tax administration of the country itself, or the text of the law. Nothing on this site is taken from a blog, an aggregator, or another calculator. We take the figures, not the wording.

Verification

A rate is entered in one pass and confirmed in a second, independent one that opens both sources again from scratch. Where the two disagree, the official source wins — but the figure still does not get published until a human has looked at the discrepancy, and the page stays out of the search index in the meantime. Calculators are also checked against each country's own official calculator, where one exists.

What this is not

It is not tax advice, and it does not model everything. Corporate calculations assume a small owner-operated company, not a group with consolidation or transfer pricing. Where a calculator simplifies, the page says so.
